Production Scheduler – Spalding – £22,500 (DOE)

Coulter Elite Resourcing are currently looking for a Production Scheduler to work with their very well-established client based in Spalding.

The key accountability for this Production Scheduler role is to support the Planning Supervisor to plan production activity in line with SLA’s and business targets alongside planning and production teams. Those with experience in a planning or scheduling role within FMCG, warehouse or production are encouraged to apply.

Job specific requirements for the Production Scheduler:

  • To plan production activity in the short term, through accurate and cost effective planning of available resources.
  • To work with and support both the Planning Supervisor, Production Manager and Supervisors on all administrative tasks when required.
  • To assist the Planning Supervisor in coaching, training and developing the team to achieve KPI targets.
  • Ensure new team members understand relevant procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure personal and administrator compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Upkeep of daily production documents in a timely manner according to the Daily Task List.
  • Understand and use KPIs to further improve performance.
  • To check that works orders have been closed in tolerance and if not investigate and make the necessary adjustments.
  • Update works orders received by third party packers on the same day and resolve any issues.
  • Liaise with Planning Supervisor, Production Supervisors and Production Manger to ensure factory is operating at optimum efficiency.
  • Management of the daily production plan generating a standard daily headcount for operations
  • Utilise daily/weekly forecast and pack forward criteria in order to plan what needs to be produced daily.
  • Minimise potential downtime through effective communication with all relevant business departments.
  • Ensure production plans are shared with Stock Controller’s to ensure there is enough stock released to determine production schedules can be achieved.
  • Generate Daily Plans for each line monitoring progress and updating if required.
  • Co-ordination of site capacity model and daily planning function to ensure all exceptional activity is delivered at correct cost and on time.
  • Assist in the departments reduction of waste KPI by creating accurate production plans from forecast information provided.
  • To ensure administration requirements are covered in order to achieve the production plan.
  • Communicate with other department to get the best possible plan for the production department in a most efficient manner.
  • Communicate with other department at the earliest for any changes in delivery time to the customer.

Person specification for the Production Scheduler:

  • Possess GCSE or GCE Ordinary Level passes or equivalent in including Mathematics and English Language
    • Be a competent administrator with previous experience in a similar role.
    • Be able to demonstrate a proactive and flexible attitude to work, adopting a “hands on” approach as and when appropriate for the Company’s dynamic environment.
    • Have effective communication skills to allow you to communicate with a wide range of people and departments both internally and externally
    • Be sufficiently numerate and a clear logical thinker
    • Good analytical skills
    • Be self-motivated with a ‘can do’ approach.
    • Be able to manage and work as part of a team as well as independently when required
    • Pay meticulous attention to detail
    • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure
    • Possess competent PC skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
