Many of Princebuild’s management team began their careers as engineers and have worked their way into their current role gaining vital experience, training and qualifications as part of that progression.
What you’ll do… Reporting to the department managers, the successful commercial gas engineers will take on the role of supporting the mechanical department with their ongoing works and variety of projects.
Due to the nature of their varied projects, works can be Nationwide and require flexible working hours. These projects can include supermarket/retail, schools, prisons, police stations, colleges, care homes, social housing, undertaking breakdowns, installation works, planned preventative maintenance and response maintenance contracts.
Key duties & responsibilities:
- Working on all aspects of commercial gas including (but not limited to) installation and maintenance of boilers, boosters and pipework.
- Working up to IGE/UP/1 tightness, strength testing and purging.
- Overseeing, supervising and training of trainees and apprentices.
- Knowledge/understanding of the contract design and construction drawings.

What you’ll need…
Princebuild Ltd are looking for experienced Commercial Gas Engineers who have worked within a similar commercial and industrial environment. They will be self-motivated, proactive and hold competent IT skills. A positive attitude is required together with the ability to integrate and play an active part within the team.
Developing positive relationships with your colleagues, our clients and all other site operatives are of paramount importance and therefore excellent communication skills are key.
Key requirements:
- You must hold a full current UK driving licence and have had 6 months driving experience since passing your test and live within an hour of the PE1 area
- NVQ Level 3 in mechanical based qualification (or equivalent)
- Current Commercial Gas Qualifications
- Domestic Gas Qualifications
- Unvented Hot Water Qualification
- JIB PHMES CSCS Card
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
- Willing to travel on a daily basis as required for the needs of the business
Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, MOJ CTC clearance, MOD vetting clearance and enhanced police clearance

Job title: Commercial Gas Engineers
Hours: 39 hours per week Monday – Friday
Monday – Thursday 07:45hrs to 16:30hrs and Friday 07:45hrs to 15:30hrs
(These hours are on site start and finish times. This will also involve daily travel and possible working away from time to time as deemed necessary for the needs of the business)
Starting salary: £18.00-£22.00 per hour depending on skills and experience but negotiable for the right candidate
