Full Time – Permanent – Mon-Fri- Hybrid

Job Purpose

To sell and account manage advertising sales/commercial partnerships on a new AV based trade magazine and related app/online media. Presence at industry shows (UK and Overseas) and offsite meetings to facilitate and increase ad revenues and brand profile.

Job Overview

To maximise delivery of magazine income through advertising sales activities across printed and online assets. Working to agreed business targets, selling to existing clients and new business accounts.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

1.           Delivery of maximum revenue from selling advertising space and other business activities as per agreed business targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

2.           Sales development of existing client base to maximise sales opportunities.

3.           Canvassing from existing database and contacting to prospective new clients to establish their viability as potential advertisers.

4.           Account management of existing client base to include responsibility for administration and day-to-day management of the advertising sales revenue.

5.           Regular monitoring, canvassing and assessment of advertising content of competitive magazines/websites

6.           All of the above to be conducted by: telephone selling, email and face to face visits as required by the task(s).

7.           Correct and diligent maintenance and use of the  contact management software database and administration system.

8.           Attendance of meetings and other communication activities as may be required (see below).

9.           Liaison with the respective Editor(s), Design and Production teams as required during the magazine sales cycle.

10.        Regular liaison with the Sales Director and Managing Director to provide information on: sales prospect status, general sales forecasts and projections, commentaries & reports on specific clients and other information as requested

11.        Attendance of meetings and other communication activities as may be required

Person Specification

•             Proven B2B sales experience

•             Proven sales experience of winning new business

•             Great listening and questioning ability to understand the clients’ objective

•             Consultative and mature selling manner

•             Strong organisational skills

•             Confident in selling over the phone and face-to-face.

•             Ideally previous experience in media sales

•             Confident sales person prepared to immerse and understand the AV and associated industries.
